Jaacks is a filmmaker, photographer and multimedia journalist whose work explores the natural world and our place in it through the lens of science, natural history, and exploration. Before joining URI, he spent a decade producing films and reporting visual stories from around the globe. Jaacks has produced and directed numerous independent films and digital shorts that have screened internationally at film festivals, on television, and online at major publications for National Geographic, PBS Digital Studios, The New York Times, and the Atlantic.
