David McLaughlin is a Program Services Officer at the State of Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management focused on sustainability initiatives for materials management, renewable energy, and prevention pollution. Prior to this role he was the Founder and First Executive Director of an NGO in Rhode Island that focused on community building, transformational behaviors and grassroots advocacy efforts to address issues of marine debris, water quality, and shoreline access. David has a Masters Degree in Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Atmospheric Science and Physical Oceanography from the Florida Institute of Technology. When not at work trying to help the planet, you can find Dave outside in the ocean riding waves in Rhode Island or venturing into the mountains of New Hampshire.
